The Hive
Southwest Michigan wine country, championship golf, ski hills, beaches, and trails — all within reach of your front door. Whatever brings your group together, The Hive is your home base.
Michigan Wine Country Starts Here
The Hive sits at the heart of the Lake Michigan Shore wine region — 15+ wineries and tasting rooms within a 30-minute drive, anchored by Michigan's oldest and most-awarded winery seven minutes away.
St. Julian Winery
& Distillery
Founded in 1921 by Mariano Meconi, St. Julian has been making wine in Paw Paw for over a century. Today it's the longest continuously operating winery in Michigan — and one of the most decorated, taking home 22 medals at the 2026 Michigan Governor's Cup Awards alone.
Their wines are made exclusively from grapes grown in the Lake Michigan Shore Appellation. The range runs from internationally recognized dry reds to small-batch sweet wines, craft-distilled spirits, and hard ciders. For groups staying at The Hive, St. Julian is the perfect afternoon out — book an enhanced winery tour, do a barrel tasting, then pick up a few bottles for the firepit that night.
Paw Paw, MI
A Different Course Every Day
Southwest Michigan is quietly one of the best golf regions in the Midwest — from a Jack Nicklaus Signature course on Lake Michigan to a six-course resort rated 4.5+ stars by Golf Digest. The Hive puts your group within reach of all of it.
Heritage Glen Golf Club
Designed by Jerry Matthews in 1994, Heritage Glen is the course you build the trip around. The front nine threads through towering pines that feel like Northern Michigan. The back nine opens into wide, Scottish links-style fairways. The on-site grill is perfect for a post-round debrief before heading back to The Hive.
Hit the Slopes, Come Home to the Fire
Southwest Michigan gets serious lake-effect snow off Lake Michigan. Three ski resorts are within 45 minutes — ski all day, then come back to The Hive for the hot tub, firepit, and projector.
Beyond the Tee Box and Tasting Room
Lavender fields, lake beaches, hiking trails, and small-town charm. Southwest Michigan has a quieter side that's worth a full day of exploring.
